Workplace Gossip/Toxic Work Environment
Hi all — will try to keep this brief. Long story short, my employer (a community mental health agency where I work as a therapist) is showing its true colors as as gossipy and corporate environment. Our therapist and admin team is rather small. We all tend to get to know one another closely and I've had great rapport with most everyone. Over the last two months, I've dealt with an emergency surgery, my younger sister being diagnosed with a cancer, and an unexpected break-up – he literally abandoned me and our family while I was out of town – after 3.5 years together. I also have had tense conversations with two supervisors about my work: performance, schedule, growth, etc. They basically say: “You're amazing…do a great job…compassionate…never late on documentation…fix errors rapidly, etc.” However, their annual review was lame and essentially said: “You met our expectations…cool.” When I felt…
For example, I have my email signature line w/ name address and phone in Outlook. When I write an email, should I also add my name to the end of the email, or is the signature line enough? WWJD
Job: like cook The restaurant I work at doesn’t care about employees for sure. They call in the new hire on the busiest day (Friday evening) which is impossible for anyone to train him since this place is really understaffed (many quit during training week because it’s poorly managed). I have made the mistake of “working hard” so the incompetent managers constantly expect so much from me while letting the lazy workers slack off so often. It’s so ridiculous! Because this hire came in Fri, not trained at all and they made him help with other things, which is very shady from the management side. They didn’t give him much instructions and he made the wrong portions that eventually affected me the next day. (Which a manager also blamed me for someone’s work). So on the next day, all the responsibility to train him was on me. Mind you, I was…
a question on my business test
My manager and job suck
Apparently I got in trouble for filing a report against one of my coworkers because he threatened me by saying he was gonna bash in my skull into the wall and I reported it to my supervisor and my manager. Apparently they pulled me to the side saying you cannot file a report because it’s annoying(this isn’t the first time he’s threatened me) and said next time you fill out a report like this we’re gonna fire you so either man up or quit we don’t need the headache.
All this time and effort put into applying to the company portal just to get rejected; just noticed that I’ve never applied to companies portal and got at least an interview, all the interviews I was able to land were because I dmed a recruiter on linkedin or in most cases sent an email
Ice Storm Warning
“All business will be open normal hours today.” – Middle Mgr on behalf of Owner Anyone else still required to drive under hazardous conditions to work? I have no recourse. Just walking from my car to the front door of the office was about to turn into a bad cartoon sketch of me slipping around cause the entire parking lot is iced over. You'd think they'd at least salt it for us beforehand. But nope.
