I just got back to work after 9 weeks at home from having surgery to find out they denied my FMLA because. “you have not met fmla’s 12 month length of service requirement. As of first date of requested leave you have worked approximately 11 towards this requirement. Here is the problem. I have worked for the state (government employee) for over 5 years and for this particular department since may of 2020 so that makes no sense to me. I also have worked over the 1250 hours in the past 12 months part so I am at a loss!

A co worker and I talk about our issues at work and we have noticed that some of the issues we discuss are randomly brought up during meetings. The owner has a history of using cameras with audio in office for security but also to watch and monitor employees. We have moved into a new building with no visual cameras inside and no mention of possible cameras. We aren’t convinced, and have a feeling we are being recorded, which would be incredibly illegal. I know there are apps that can apparently detect recording devices, but I need something tried and true. Any tips? Thanks I’m advance and hopefully this question fits this sub, sorry if it doesn’t!

Is there a country where I can live a good life, be able to buy a home and grow old in peace, without worrying about my employers being given a free pass to exploit me and my labour? The work I want to do is important, and it is something I enjoy doing – all I need to be satisfied is to be paid enough to pay my bills and enjoy a few indulgences, and to be treated with decency and dignity. Or is even that too much to ask for?

I worked for 7 months here. Still not fully trained on all procedures. I am willing and working. My boss is a micromanager and has condescending tone. My senior colleague said to her she can't work with me one day. I got tired of my senior coworker's laziness. So I said like orders to her and she took it badly. Framed it that I was coarsing her (my dad was a bad man and didn't treat me well, so I can be scary sometimes). I try to get a good relationship with my boss. I am compliant but I'm a low performer in her opionion. I literally can't do anything without getting nitpicked and I can't work nightshift without full training. Unless I get lucky and get a new job this situation feels fubar. My boss said today if I see that again I will write up a non conformance.…

My supervisor accepted this PTO request I had requested a few weeks ago. I was offered a better job so I put in my 2 weeks. Now my boss is telling me it is weird that I am still taking that time off. I will be traveling so I still will be taking that day off. It shouldn't matter right? Especially if the request was accepted weeks in advance.
