Assessments for a job -especially before an interview is ridiculous

Okay so looking for new jobs and find a few positions I qualify for with a certain company so I apply. The company has great scores and reviews on Glassdoor so I start to feel confident. I hear back pretty quickly from a recruiter at the company and she lets me know that I will have to do an assessment. 30 minute Technical Assessment and 30 minute personality assessment….. wtf. So I do it. The “technical assessment” wasn't even technical, basic math and then stupid pattern questions. The personality was just as torturous as it's 100 questions that are so similar it drives you mad by the end. Oh well, it's done now maybe to the next step? Nope. I applied for 3 engineer positions so I am informed that I have to take the assessments FOR EACH POSITION. And then to top it off, the next step in the…

Advice to navigate my internship!

Hi! I’m an international student doing an internship that requires me to drive across the state (I live in the US). To move around, the organization is paying for the Zipcars I’ve been using. However, the company is not giving me any insurance or other benefits but a salary per hour. I have health insurance through my school, but I think that if an accident happens or I get stopped by the cops for X or Y reasons, the one that should be responsible for any costs incurred or liability should be the employer, right? Should I ask them to get insurance to be covered in case an accident happens? What would be the best thing to do in this scenario? I’m not happy about driving being part of this job, but as an international student, it is what it is. I don’t think I can do anything about it.…

Can my employer take off money on my final check if I use sick days/vacation days during my two weeks notice?

Currently I have accumulated a lot of sick/vacation/personal days off. I made the decision to quit and next week will be my final. However, I know they won't pay me for all those days of PTO unused. I was planning to play sick for a majority of my final week so that I can use my hard earned PTO. But I was told they can just take whatever I used out of my final check. Is this true? I mean what if I really was sick? Anyone have experience in this?
