Does anyone remember a recent article profiling a guy who is set to retire super early, with something like “here's how i did it,” and “if I can do it, anyone can”? It's for an university project, and I'm having trouble finding the exact article. It's one of the classic “Say the line, Bart” type article, where the “secret to saving” is that he got a job from his Goldman Sachs parents immediately out of university for a six figure salary, and saved money on rent and mortgage by living at his grandparent's vacation home. I think there's a specific quote that's basically: “It was tempting to spend at first, but I resisted by only going on vacations within US instead of travelling overseas with my friends.” Sorry if this doesn't narrow it down much. It was such an infuriating article that I have to find it again.

don’t go that way
I had an interview on Thursday, got offered on the spot and filled out the paper work online later that day. I was told someone would reach out to me regarding my start date soon. Friday comes and goes, along with the weekend. The morning hours of Monday are just shaving away and I'm getting frustrated, so I call. It's apparent they genuinely forgot about me and the fact that I was hired. They scrambled trying to find a start date while in the phone. It's just super unprofessional. A part of me actually wanted to continue to let them be aloof and just sue for lost wages.
Best way to call out sick?
In need of a mental health day. Hoping for some bad weather but if no real reasons to stay home, what do you say? All I have to do is send a text, but I hate providing more info than needed.
I hate applying for a job, time wasted interviewing, suspense waiting, and hope shot down because they never planned on hiring externally in the first place, this should be illegal. —— We appreciate your interest and taking the time to speak with us about the Tech Support Specialist III role. After careful consideration, we have decided to move forward with another candidate at this time. To give more detail: it was filled with an internal promotion. We thank you for the time and effort you took to apply, and understand that this kind of news can be disappointing.
I work at a relatively small non-profit and started at this place literally 2 days post grad from my Masters program. The original job I was hired for was new to the org but was tasked assisting an entire department. My boss decided 2 months into my employment, that I would be moved into an even newer role that was technically a promotion but there was no job description and no raise to accompany it. I had no freaking idea what I was doing and I was constantly getting yelled at for crossing boundaries on my job duties. I asked for 6 months straight to be given a job description. To be given training on how this position operates. Because of unclear guidance, my boss would get frustrated with me easily. He made several mistakes that he said was my fault. During my performance review, he kept saying that I…
So I'm looking for a new job, and I've got some companies trying to schedule interviews. This one job's description is I I will be making $600-$1200 a week. That's vague so I looked it up and it basically this shady sales job. Most people said it was deceptive. They sent a text one day asking if I mean to sign up for an in person job, and they could interview me for WFH and after I said that they never replied. For the past few days they have been blowing up my phone with their network of companies. They were trying to rush an interview at first and I ignored that request and now they are begging. Lmfao I'm very curious about it. I want to go into the interview and ask all the questions that you're not supposed to ask on an interview such as 1. How much…
