An opportunity came up at work for a promotion. It was for a shift lead position, I have been doing this already since our shift lead quit. The options were between me and another coworker that was leading the shift with me too. Everyone wanted me to get the promotion because I treat everyone well, I try to be fair, and don’t mind working along my team in order to get us out of there soon. My coworker on the other hand, acts like a boss, treats everyone poorly unless he likes them, belittles everyone, and will do anything to not do any of his work. I end up doing all of it. I used to show up to work to get everything loaded & ready (lay sewer pipe lines for big cities). I & the other guys, (about 10 of us) would show up about 30 minutes early so at 6am we were ready to start driving to the job. Now, I show up about 2 minutes early every day (5:58am) & everyone always asks why why why & I tell them, regardless of what I write down & start on my phone (we use a tracking app to clock in & we also make a paper copy & turn it in) the owner will change it to 6:00am so we don’t get paid for that work in the morning. & now we don’t even get paid drive time which in a company vehicle which I’m pretty sure is a law that’s being broke.
