The Double Rejection
I applied for an IT position with the Vail Ski Resort Group in Colorado back in October of 2022. I got a text message from them in Mid December asking if I was still interested in working for Vail, but not in the IT department. They had several listings they need to be filled; Restaurant Crew, Cook, Lift Operator, Non-Certified Ski/Snowboard Instructor, Ticket and Product Sales Agent, or Retail Associate. I also have a background in Ticket Sales so I replied that the Ticket and product Sales Agent position would fit my experience. They said “Great! We can move you forward for that position today if you'd like!” I replied Yes, and they sent me a background check and Electronic Hire documents. I completed the forms and awaited their reply. It was now 13 December 2022. On the 20th of December I still had not heard back form them so…
This is a job I've worked at for 5 years, it's a fast food place and has never been good. I quit last year but just started it again after a couple months. I have another job/internship now I've always wanted already. Should I walk out? I'm scared because my new job is nice and I don't want them to fuck it up. They've always mistreated me so i kinda don't feel bad but I like the nicer people there too. What should I do?

For reference, I'm a younger millennial (tail-end). I went to college later than my peers so I graduated several months ago. I have a degree in business administration with a concentration in finance. I have over 5 years of business/marketing/finance experience. Around 3 years is from internships during college and around 3 years is from working for a small business (before college) owned by a family member (before Covid began) which went out of business a couple of years ago. I helped a lot with marketing and advertising which helped me realize what I wanted to do for a long-term career (hence, why I decided to go to college as a non-traditional student and major in BA). I had my resume fixed up and checked while I was a senior in college last year and the career development center said it looked great. I also had it checked by a…
Is this some kind of hazing ritual I’m not aware of? Give the new guy the old gross equipment? I get giving older employees their choice of desk before the new hire arrives, but this is another level. I expect to be given a sanitary work environment. Is that crazy?
Like the title says. I work in England as a cook in a fast food restaurant and today, after a not-too-great closing shift yesterday (which she knew the reasons for, and the reasons were out of my control), I got a message from one of my colleagues saying that our manager had told him that she was 'going to test [me] for improvement for the next 1-2 weeks' and if I don't meet her expectations, she will fire me. The only problem with this is that I have heard almost no complaints whatsoever from her to me. I got one real critique about my cooking a week ago (which I amended and asked for feedback on and she said it was perfect now) but nothing besides that and the bad close yesterday. I've not had any formal warnings and am not being told what areas I need to improve in,…
