Just got a letter from our city that they “accidentally” have been charging an extra 0.5% in taxes for the last 15 years! And they have no intention of refunding any of the money because of an Ohio law stating no there is a one year statute of limitations on “Unauthorized taxes”. (You mean theft?!?) I’m so livid, especially because our streets are nothing but potholes and downtown is trash, and we only have a volunteer fire department, but they are trying to justify what the money was spent on. I cannot wait to say my peace at the council meeting they are having about this issue in 2 weeks!

I've done the 48-72 hours of week bs schedules before. I didn't like it. Why the fuck do you think I chose a 40 hour a week job?? I've been thinking about starting part time work, and while I'm working I might as well gain life experience from it so I've been thinking what kind of work should I choose that challenges me to go out of my comfort zone and doesn't keep me in a dead end repetitive hell? Termination & Unemployment in PA
Hey gang! I was let go of work today and the reasoning was “Pending investigation for time fraud”. They said I should get an email in 48 hours about the result. They did this to my 2 other coworkers a week ago and a day ago to the other one. Same reasonings. They never sent them an email. Are we eligible for unemployment in PA? The district manager just wanted to clean house. I have a new job that I start first week of February. Is it worth filing for unemployment? Again, I’m in PA.

Shortening an extremely long story, our job is to MONITOR security systems… But we are expected to: Configure every single piece of software used on the sides to 'boost' the monitoring of the business, so it can compete with EXTREMELY BIGGER names such as Verisure. Help the boss with his personal bills and business purchases (as in, keeping tabs on his payment due dates). Clean the workplace, as in: sweep, scrub, wash, and leave it sparkling. This is my first time posting here but I’ve found myself in quite a baffling situation. So the director of our department (my immediate supervisor) is retiring in March after 25 years of working there. She announced her retirement in October and said she was hoping they would hire her replacement before she left so she could train them. I was excited for her as she is a nice lady and certainly deserves to spend her golden years relaxing. It’s almost February now, so a couple days ago, I asked if we’ve gotten any good applicants yet. She proceeded to inform me that HR hasn’t even posted the position yet and we will likely be without a director for months after she leaves (if they ever even decide to hire one at all).
