Was curious can a company penalize you for taking paid sick leave? Giving you points or demerits whatever that could lead to being fired?
Category: Antiwork
I'm not comfortable with the way the company I work for sends out my payslips. There is way less detail in them than I am used to and I want to keep track of my work hours and pay. I want to track my clock in/out times but date and have the tracker add it all up automatically when I've put everything for the week. I was thinking of using Excel but I don't have a subscription to MS Office so any alternative would be appreciated.
Obligatory disclaimer – I'm NOT in the US This turned out really chaotic, I'm sorry I started this job in August. I was supposed to be a receptionist, that's what I've been told, but it's barely what I do, I'm more of a personal assistant to my dick of a boss and a human printer with legs. I NEVER would've picked this job if I knew my real responsibilities. This last half year has been a nightmare. I got no training except for some random notes left by a previous worker, nobody in this company communicates with each other, my boss NEVER speaks to me directly, he communicates through his favourite assistant, S, even when he's literally in the room next to me. He's 70 and a baby – I can't stress it enough. He complains (never to me, everything goes through S) that a cup of coffee I prepared…
Wise words from ex employer.
Sketchy Jobs
So my husband convinced me to come work with him. We work in the phlebotomy field. My hubs loves-LOVES his job. I, on the other hand, have some major red flag/concerns. 1.) we aren’t provided a lunch break. And we’re specifically told in orientation that “we don’t have to offer you a lunch break on our mobile team” 🤨 what? 2.) the person doing my training is leaving February 14th and isn’t really trying to train us. She’ll show us the basics and then be like “okay! Let’s go practice on real people!” I expressed last week that I wasn’t comfortable or ready to deal with real people yet and she said, “I’ll be there. You’ll be fine” 🤔 not how that works but fine. (Yes I also screwed up) 3.) my manager (who is also my husbands manager) hasn’t had maybe a 5 minute conversation with me. But told…
Boss MAD I Told On Them Stealing Hours
Here's the thing, I'm one of the leads where I work, but I have 2 people above me. They leave early every day, and not like 10 minutes, I'm talking 2-3 hours. They would have me clock them out when they were suppose to. I didn't mind since I had paternity leave when we barely had workers. But 1 month of it turned into another, and another. Until finally it came to a point where I worked way more than them yet they get paid for more hours than me and to where it felt way unfair. So then one day their boss shows up, asks where they are, I tell them the WHOLE thing, and next thing you know my bosses are pulling me in upset I DIDNT goto them first. Now we can all assume why, just so they didn't get caught. Crazy how bosses do little work…
