I bartend events and paid decently hourly considering. Some shifts are solely bartending while some shifts involve bartending one well and bartending another well with a server. So bartender is working two wells. Server works with customers taking drink orders and preparing light finger food buffet style. Server is paid 60% more hourly + tips. Issues- server wants to split tips 50/50 from both wells, while they only work with the one well. Bartender makes 75%-80% of drinks for the shared well (server makes the remaining) and 100% for second well. How would you expect tip outs to be handled? 50/50 split with someone making 60% and hour more feels like giving my tips away. Refusing this new way of tipping out until speaking with a manager, has resulted in shifts being taken away.

I hate the feeling that people around me just don’t fucking care. All of these boxes are avalanching towards me but get upset I’m not moving super fast. I’m sick of them getting upset of me about jams and stuff that isn’t my fault. I’m trying my absolute best and they don’t care. I am never working at that place again….

I seen a meme today 'for my next job I'm going to pretend I have a child so I can milk all the time off that other people get' and it reminded me of a surreal situation in an old job that escalated so quickly and the epic justice that was subsequently dished out. Long story short is that nobody bats an eyelid when smokers get their fix but if I take an unplanned break and I'm in the toilet for more than 5 minutes I will literally get phone calls. NOT A REPOST, but a continuation: For context, I(23F) mentioned previously that I was given a $125 giftcard for my holiday bonus. I was not originally supposed to receive it as I was still in my 90 period at the time, but the owner of the store approved it anyway as I worked the busiest nights.
