I want to leave my job making 160k because I’m not happy with it, but in a way I feel like I should just buckle down due to how many other people are getting screwed at much worse jobs.

I would rather smoke weed and just chill and watch YouTube videos all day. I don’t care judge me. I am happy.

This was just the final straw in a day filled with small jabs to my soul. I've been at work since 4 in the morning and doing all my chores like a good little employee only having thirty minutes on the clock before I go home. Of course I stand for 5 minutes with the other coworkers in the back room and have to have a meeting about “There's always something to do” a few minutes later. “You're not here to have a little pow wow”, etc. It's not like any of us are incompetent, we've been doing our jobs the entire time. I know it's directed towards “everyone” but how can you say that after I helped up front every time it was needed…? Idk sorry for formatting issues and wack typing. It's been a long day and frankly it's mentally and emotionally draining.

Hi, First corporate big-boy job. Got hired as IT for higher education company under the parent company. Get there, day 1, told I'm to support all universities under the parent company. Suddenly, salary makes no sense. Told it will be rare that I am asked to step in and help other companies because we have 3 total colleagues who are dedicated to each one and they're finding another. Decades ago, me and my best mate worked for this absolute turdnugget of a boss at a busy gas station. The Owner and the Manager were both South Africans who had moved to New Zealand after the end of Apartheid because they obviously didn't like it in SA anymore. I only mention that as it is relevant background to help you understand the kind of people we're talking about. Most of the people working at the station were Pacific Islanders – Samoans, Fijians, Tongans, Maori… but my buddy and I were a couple of whiter-than-white teenage dickheads who grew up on the multicultural streets of Auckland. We got on well with the rest of the crew, but the owner and manager were both massive dickheads who obviously felt superior to everyone. Does anyone else get so overworked that they have questioned their own cognitive ability? The winter has been a huge shitstorm with the end of the year. At one point I had 60 individual cases under me, it has been hell. Last week my boss asked me to return an item we got to an Amazon locker and gave me a QR code slip. The package has been sitting in my trunk for a week and I just now realized and I’m so embarrassed!! It’s not the end of the world but I feel like an idiot! I have been making a ton of mistakes and forgetting some tasks altogether. I swear I am more competent than this…? Is it possible my workload is affecting my memory? Does anyone else have a job that makes them question themselves?

Why aren't these people striking?

The Pizza Place in Bridgeport WV. I worked there for a couple months. During that time they sent somebody to break into my house, and then they sent someone to threaten me with a gun at a local gas station. There mistake was the gas station incident. I had two witness see what happened there so I was able to press charges . (eventually dropped because I couldn't afford a lawyer) But why did they do all this you might be wondering?? Surely I did something truly evil to warrant this!…..well I talked to my ex girlfriend at the counter one day…turns out she's now married to the bosses nephew and the boss felt like I was trying to mess with his nephews relationship.
