I will spare you the history of that specific land development in my hometown. But when we heard that Panera was going in everybody was excited. Not even going to mention the company’s name, but I was initially hired as temporary with the chance of becoming permanently employed. I worked there for 6 months, doing my tasks as textbook as it gets. I literally worked as hard as I could, to the point where I would physically be pained. I would come home with calluses and blisters all over my feet from walking 9,000-15,000 steps per night (graveyard shifts). All because I wanted a permanent position.
