I hate life at the moment as I feel utterly stuck and overwhelmed with emotions. To start off I work for Balfour Beatty on a military base for housing as my spouse in active duty. I started at $16 an hour as my coworkers were all bumped up to $16 an hour when I started. During my time working for this company I have seen so many things I wish I could delete from my memory. Some examples of the things I’ve had to walk into and see, an abandoned house with recent dead dogs. Blood on walls and rooms with human and pet feces. A carpet so badly stained and damaged that I couldn’t tell you the original color. A cat box with poo in it next to a child playing with toys and a cat turd in the child’s hand. So many holes in walls from people getting…

What do you do if you get bombarded with case works while behind on mandatory training? I have a meeting with my manager this afternoon to discuss. I am not sure how to bring the topic across diligently. In addition, I have already start looking for other positions as a backup. Thanks

My fiancee's salaried job (US) is telling her that if she isn't able to finish with her accounts by the end of the work day some days that she will have to work on them from home and that if she did that more, if she needs to leave early in the future for some reason but didn't have PTO they would just let her go. Is this acceptable?

Won’t say where I work for privacy reasons but it’s a warehouse environment. Lately, there’s been an emphasis on us writing our names on a white board in our department before breaks and lunches. Even if we verbally state that we’re going over the radio. Is this normal? It feels like kindergarten behavior.

So I’m in my 30’s now and feeling increasingly dissatisfied with working office jobs that just make rich guys richer. I was a sociology major in college and always wanted to get into a field where I could help people, but I’m also introverted and a little intimated by the idea of it as well. Just curious what people’s thoughts or experiences with these kind of jobs are. What would be a good entry point for this kind of career? If you work a job like this are you satisfied? Do you feel burnt out? I’d like to at least give it a shot and see if it’d be a good fit for me but unsure where to start. Any advice or feedback Is appreciated

Follow up question to a previous post: I was terminated from my job and told I was not at work on the 2nd, when I was definitely there the entire shift. I was a new hire so I did not have the clock in card, but there are cameras all over the place plus other workers will know that I was there. Their response was “if you were here, a supervisor would have documented it.” I won't find out until tomorrow if they decided to check the cameras to see that I was there or not. But with how they're acting, I have a feeling they will try to not pay me. Assuming this is the course they take, what legal actions can I take? If I can take any at all.

I had a surprise oral surgery yesterday. And the doctor said I have to stay way from work for a couple days. When I told my boss this they didn't put me in for a sick day like I asked and then they basically said that the doctors note won't count and I will be getting a write up and possibly terminated It it helps I'm in Texas. I personally don't care. I hate this job and have been looking for a new one to leave them on cause they keep giving me different jobs and bot training me for them and expecting me to just know how its done.

I am 27 years old unemployed, i can’t finish my school cause I don’t have money to pay it off, I recently got kicked out of my house after coming out to my family and i am currently struggling to survive, i am looking for any kind of remote/online work, i am very tech-savvy and i am familiar with all Microsoft office programs, i have experience in customer service, data entry, virtual assistance. I am willing to do any kind of work just to survive. If anyone is hiring or know of any leads please let me know!
