The most recent situation makes me wanna quit. I’ll keep this as short as possible. I work a minimum wage job and am being treated like it should be my only priority. The first incident: I had an invasive procedure done on a Friday. I wasn’t properly prepared for its severity/recovery time and had to leave halfway through my shift the next day bc I was still unwell. Called out that Sunday too for the same reason and was met with passive aggressive comments from the general manager and obvious annoyance. I work in a global manufacturing facility in safety. I also provide basic first aid at times in the event of an emergency. A few months ago I made an employee go to the emergency room because her blood pressure was over 200/130. She did not want to leave initially thinking she could chill out and get it down then go back to work. I told her I would not allow her to return to work and she needed to go to the ER. She finally relented and went to the hospital where she received care. Recently she told me that she received an attendance point against her for that night. I was floored. I couldn't believe they would punish her for being sent home by me because she had a medical emergency. I followed up with my supervisor about this because I just couldn't believe this was a policy.…

the job tried to screw me over
So im not from the usa. It happened to me few months ago. I work as the marketing/advertising team lead. And one small company hired me. They didnt have a marketing department before and they wanted me to gather the team myself. The first Red flag that should have caught my attention was that the company didnt want to hire me on legal rights, but preferred to hire me as the independend contractor. Many companies have been doing that here lately to avoid paying taxes, so i let it fly by. So i was also promised that i Will be reporting directly to the CEO of the company.
