My company is moving buildings and because management is newish they asked during our meeting today that if we have suggestions for the move that they'd love to hear it as us workers are the ones that truly know the factory. They mentioned that they will be getting a shipping container to hold our jigs that we use for welding. My dream job is in the shipping container industry and I have had experience in modification and devanning. So I had questions, and I really want to learn as much as I can about how they'll do it as I won't see it done. I'm leaving in a week due to poor management with notice handed in last year. My manager shamed me when i asked to leave 1.5 hours early due to mental health (which btw my company does allow time off for mental health). The next day when i was back she told me tasks were pending and she was not ok with the fact i left with some pending tasks… i had an emergency and had to leave so I dont undestand why shes shaming me for it … What would be best way to handle ?

Random thought….I was shopping at Walmart tonight and I used the self-checkout. One of the women working in the self-checkout area literally stood beside me and watched me scan and bag every single item. It was awkward af. I can imagine they are now doing this because of the increase in people not scanning every item when they check out. I read an article that the stealing is so bad the Walmart CEO said they may increase prices or close stores as a result. It had me thinking that self-checkouts have become a self-own for so many retail stores. They installed these self-checkouts in order to limit the amount of staff they have employed in their stores. And now, stealing at these stations is rampant. I have to wonder, is it more costly to employ more workers, or to lose so much product to theft? I bet it'd be cheaper…

Plus protection from extreme weather is an added benefit.
