like they know pay $15 an hour right? What do they have to think they are in the position to demand so many expectations you have to learn the entire menu in 2 days the managers are more like drill sergeants You have to take actual tests after applying to every Jersey Mike's in Orange county being denied while having 4 years of serving/cashiering/ 5 years cooking while there being 17-year-olds working the stations *two of the locations applied to scheduled an interview one of them the manager didn't show up so I had to wait there for 40 minutes then 2 weeks later I'm contacted with the manager apologizing and said that we can get the onboarding started then two months go by with no communication i decide to check up again and say hey can I work here just for the heck of it they said yeah we'll…
Considering Doing an Experiment
My current job leaves me with a lot of free time. I still have to be available, close to my computer and ready to jump on requests in a reasonable amount of time, but there's very little that's extremely urgent, and I work very efficiently, so most tasks don't take me as long as they're expected to. So that leaves me stuck in my home office doing nothing many days. That's what brings me to this experiment: I've been bored and looking at job ads (not because I feel a pressing need to leave, but because I know someday I'll have to do something I find more fulfilling), and most of the types of positions that I'd consider getting into don't post what salary they're offering (they don't legally have to where I am). I'm considering just blasting my resume out to a lot of these places and seeing whether…
Moving On To (hopefully) A Better Job…
Hello, I worked for a small restaurant for over a year. I started as a Dishwasher but I quickly learned to do pretty much everything in the kitchen. Due to bad management and other things I decided to look for a better job as a Busser at a bigger restaurant…. I did what I had to, but it wasn't easy… because I really grew attached to my coworkers turned friends. However I do recognize that I cannot stay in one place forever and if I want to get more into the food industry I need to move on… but like I already said, it wasn't easy. What I am trying to say is, if you think it will make your life better then take that shot. It is a bitter-sweet moment if you are like me, but it must be done. I just hope my next job is marginally better!…
Hello all, as the title suggests really. I work in a dead call centre for a telecom company. Been ok as temporary job whilst I got my life sorted out, now bailing back out of the UK and working abroad in just under a month. Anyway I decided I'd like to see some friends along the way and have a bit of a holiday before starting at my new job overseas, I.e. travel and then head to my final destination. So I gave my notice in today and booked all of my relevant leave so it's with effect for one weeks notice as I read on the UK employment law that's all I legally have to give. I timed it so I can visit friends and family in the UK before I leave yet now my boss is potentially trying to mess it all up by saying “no the notice…
Just got hired for two jobs in the same field. One of them wants me to quit the other, they told me it’s a potential conflict of interest, but they didn’t elaborate more than that. Can I keep them both if I tell the first job that I quit the second, or will they find out somehow?
