Literally that question. I recently started a new job and in the shortest explanation- do not like it at all. The people are nice, but the job is awful and alot of expectations I was given aren't actually accurate. I'm half tempted to walk out, but I only have 4 hours left.
Category: Antiwork
My boss has recently just laid off a few people due to the market (we are in real estate). Everyone that had to go has gone and now we have just heard word that he is asking people if he can lower their base pay because money is tight. It has nothing to do with anyone’s work performance and he is asking those who have the highest salaries to do so. Is this normal and something I’ve just never seen? To me this seems like it shouldn’t even be legal.
ugh.. back to the drawing board again..
Hi. I need to vent. I worked at an e-commerce brand since October. It was a great place to work for a while, and I actually felt confident in it. Then my personal life kinda turned a bit. Shit got so chaotic, I actually reached out to HR to see my options. Maybe even to get a hybrid option of working, seeing as 90% of the business works from home, didn't think it was a big deal to ask. They gave me some paperwork for my doctor to fill out, and only gave me a week to do so, right before Christmas. So obviously, I couldn't get in in time. My sup suggested I tell them the issue hasn't gone away, so the communication line isn't dropped. I do so, and I get a request for a meeting within 15min with HR. I warned them that I was frustrated and…
Always Called in On Day Off
I got called in three times last week and I’ve already been called in twice this week (Mon & Tue). I used to always say yes (which resulted in literal 65 hour work weeks), but I’ve been saying “NO” for the past couple weeks and they KEEP asking. It’s insane how the girls who claim to “need” hours and the money constantly call out. But meanwhile I wanted to do less than 10 hours a week and have a job to pad my resume, and I get guilted and pressured in to doing overtime for weeks. They keep scheduling me less than 16 hours on the weekend (I agreed to do the shitty weekend hours no one else will cover and work every holiday if I don’t have more hours during the week). But I’m called in almost every single day. Mostly for evening shifts where it’s super understaffed and…
I am so overworked and stressed out. I can’t believe they are making me go through this during my last few weeks. I offered to help train the person who will be taking over the projects where I leave them off (just as I inherited some projects from the person before me). My boss refused and said that I need to finish everything before I leave. I know I shouldn’t care because I am leaving anyway but I really wanted to leave on good terms instead of burning bridges.
