very very very hard to swallow.
My last day of work before the holidays was the 23rd, and we're all scheduled to return January 9th. My supervisor told me if I don't come in tomorrow they're going to take back my holiday pay which has already been paid out.
How can we fight capitalism everyday?
Organizing workplaces is critical, but it takes serious time. Are there little things we can do at the same time to advance the cause?
I studied computer science and landed a tech job in a fairly small company. The pay is great, and I used to have passion, but I got burnt out and now I want to run away from any computers I see. I've applied to general administrative jobs but all got rejected, on the basis that I had a computer science degree so I'd likely not stay for long. I know I can get a job at retail or fnb but preferably I want a job that takes less of a pay cut as possible. Here's come schooling. I have saved enough throughout a couple of years of work to afford to go to college again, I've heard many stories about mid-career switches, but mostly they are to computer science, has anyone had personal experiences about switching away from computer science? What degree did you eventually take?
Well, it’s Sunday night…
And once again, I find myself overwhelmed by how much I just DON’T want to work. I want to wake up whenever I wake up, instead of being a slave to an alarm clock. I want to spend my days reading, playing with dog, and enjoying my hobbies. Heck, I’d even love to spend my time volunteering and putting goodness and kindness into the world. Work is just such a waste of time. But I have bills to pay.
