Is anyone else in this position?
So without divulging too much detail, I’ve found myself in a job making about $175K and basically doing nothing. I play video games while working and my tasks get done but the reality is I’m probably doing 10 hours of work a week and dinking around for the rest. Is this normal? I’m terrified someone will figure it out but within my organization and team I’m highly regarded as a key employee. I could probably change companies and jump to the $200k+ range but I’d rather not risk losing what seems to be an amazing gig where I’m paid well and get to do what I want most of the day.
Working at Wendys
Im thinking of getting a job at Wendys. What is it like?
Thrift Store I worked for, for over 4 years decided to sell to another organization. We were given a time frame of September 30th, 2022, for our last day. But Hurricane season in Florida put the sale on hold indefinitely, no one was told about the new date. Fast forward to November 29th, 2022. Finally get a hold of them and one had a flight delay and the other a family emergency. Was told by the board director of the facility to close the store for the day. So I do. Arrive to work the next morning, November 30th, 2022. I noticed people I never seen before, starting to install new equipment. Was told the sale of the building went through. And…
Work to Live, Don’t Live to Work
That is all.
It was fucking ridiculous. I showed up to work and my GM along with the assistant GM called me over. I was getting paid $12/hr with the arrangement that I would be getting paid $13/hr thirty days after I started working. That never happened so I contacted the assistant GM who told me it will totally be on the next paycheck. He never even told the GM. He just figured I wouldn’t make a fuss. So I contacted the GM directly resulting in this meeting. I sat across from them and the GM proceeds to tell me how they never promised me anything. That thirteen was what I bare minimum wanted to be paid and would not have taken the job without it. And then went on to tell me how I barely do my job, constantly standing around, not checking dates, etc. (I’m a cook by the way). This…
