Been looking for a new job as I’m working full time but not making enough to get by. I recently applied to several office jobs and this one emailed me the following: You have been selected to move to the next phase of our interview process. This next phase is an interview video recording. We would like to see a short recording of your responses to the questions below. (List of interview questions about why I’m leaving my job and how do I think I’d be a good fit, my transportation situation etc.) Feel free to close out the video with anything else you’d like to share. Do your best to keep the video within 5 minutes. Cell phone quality is fine. If necessary, you may split the video up into smaller parts to send. Once completed, send the video to my hiring recruiter, (name) via email or text: I’m…

FMLA paperwork
There are days you just want to quit on principle alone! They’ve got me filling out FMLA paperwork for half days that have already passed that I didn’t get paid for – just to code it differently. Also there are areas on the paperwork for if you are in hospice or have Alzheimer’s. Hopefully, whoever is filling out paperwork for such an illness is still getting paid!
He hadn't decided the schedule until late. It's not the first time Ive been woken up by a message letting me know what time I have to go to work the next (or in this case technically the same) day. Just wanted to share Edit: I misspelt “work” as “Dirk”???
What if every single person in say the United States agreed to essentially unionize? 90% of people just stopped working? Stopped paying our bills? They can't evict everyone. Would the Earth explode? Would the government come kill us all?
It annoys me that workplaces still have a no phone policy. This antiquated rule needs to die off. Yeah sure, when things are busy they should be put away. But there are a lot of jobs that have downtime where nothing happens and it should be OK to use them there.
Had someone ask to switch shifts with me today and I said no. He insisted on a reason and I just said I had plans. He then passive aggressively asked me how I had plans at 11pm. We work at a bar, it’s not far fetched that I’d be up that late and we’ve definitely all had hangouts that late. The real reason is that my shift is better than his; it’s shorter, and probably the same amount of money. But I thought that was too rude of a reason, so I made up the thing about having plans. He planned poorly and has a flight early the next morning, didn’t request the day off, and somehow it’s my fault? Entitled people are the worst.

This would be terrifying
i'm slightly upset right now and i'm not sure how to handle it, so i came here to see if others have gone through this. recent college graduate and i have been applying for jobs in social media/marketing/communication areas. i applied for a company that is supposed to be a great place for new graduates and actually pay new hires a living wage. after sending my application, i receive an immediate email to complete a behavioral assessment test and cognitive assessment test that will be sent to the company. i'm pissed honestly. i have a diagnosed disability that i was never going to disclose until i was officially hired somewhere and needed accommodations. the first was a simple personality trait test, but it psychoanalyzed how i function in the work environment. was it completely accurate? no. did it correctly point out some of my weakness due to my diagnosis? 100%…
