I recently got this part time job to save up money for college. I work or should work 4 hours for my shift, but recently they’ve been pushing and making me clock out at 3 hours and 55 minutes. Basically anything before 4 hours- I shrugged this off until I was informed that was wrong and perhaps illegal. Honestly it hasn’t been long working for this job but I would be losing deserved money off of my non-existent 30 min shifts for about 5 months, which does add up. I’m thinking of confronting my manager and advocating for myself but I don’t know what to say. Man, I love capitalism and it’s delectable worker power struggle/j.

wellness days are bs
I want to keep this as brief and limited as possible, but the long and short of it is that I had a really horrible year and was encouraged by my supervisors to take time off for mental wellness. Today, I had a performance eval and points were taken off for consistency as well as time and attendance because of the PTO I was encouraged to take.
I was great till I wasn’t
I work in a supporting function. In October I get a pay raise back dated to June. I get told I am doing great and they appreciate my work. Come December we lay off a lot of folks. I wasn’t on the list, they needed me to execute the layoffs. A month later in my performance review, I get told I am not even meeting basic expectations. Told me that I am not at the level my manager expected me to be at. Guess what these expectations aren’t even set. No goals even. I pushed for that and created clarity but they say they cannot justify my salary to the others. I took things in my hands, found another job and they sent me several case studies and I was the best out of all candidates. The role is for the same level I am at now. Will resign soon.…
