I have worked in a few different insurance agencies as a CSR and it’s always the same thing. Give us more work every time we even look like we’re starting to get caught up. Meanwhile bosses and sales seem to have all the time in the world to just chit chat, or come and go from work as they please. I’m living this right now in my current job. My two colleagues are sales. They spend the first hour to two hours each day chit chatting and gossiping while I’m desperately trying to get the last of the previous day’s work done, plus as much of the current day as possible before the phones start. I’m first on phones. As soon as that thing rings, I pick it up. If it rings 30 seconds after hanging up the last call, I pick it up. If it rings while I’m already…

So my wife was just notified that they may be ending remote work at her job. They moved it from 2 days in office to 3 and now possibly 5. I warned about the boiling frog story. Is anyone else running into this? I haven't yet, but they've already had people leave over it and she's on her way out looking for another job. If it happens soon I let her know that she should tell her boss she'll need 4 weeks to find affordable childcare (LOL that's nigh impossible) since part of her accepting the position was the understanding that remote work would be done. Needed to rant. Thanks!

This is why 2 week notices are bullshit. I get let go, and they nicely 'let me finish out the day' today. So i'm posting on reddit during my last few hours left as an employee. Don't worry though, they're 'sorry' 😀

Hey everyone! First time poster, long time lurker. I started a new job a few months ago here in Canada and things were amazing for the first few months. They actually still are, job and pay wise but the most important thing to me is work life balance. The job was advertised as being part time but I’m scheduled full time hours for the next 2 months. Not only that, we were told we would get 10 PDOs per calendar year and I’m finding out today that that isn’t the case, it’s 10 vacation days per year. I’ve spoken to my fellow trainees and they were under the same impression that we would get 10 PDOs per year. I’m quite upset at this as more money has no use for me if I’m working all the time. I wish we could all use a “work name” or an alias. Strangers shouldn't have access to our names especially if you work at Fast Food or Retail where it's not the best environment and definitely not the safest even more now.

They have no other responsibilities. This applies to every job, including yours and the NFL. Adjust your expectations and productivity as you see fit.
