You live & work in Berlin?
Director requested we work remote when business was closed due to weather to make sure things get wrapped up at end of year, payroll gave everyone full hours for the closed day in all departments. Director now want to change timeclock to take away time from those hours worked on top of the full hours that were assigned to me via payroll, I worked while other departments are closed. Although their oversight; I am entitled to compensation, no?
TL:DR When will companies realize people feel more appreciation when they get a decent raise of at bare minimum an extra dollar an hour. Screw the “holiday parties” and the non-guaranteed bonuses. A 2% raise for barely taking any unscheduled days off and busting your ass every day is BS and has only motivated me more to go back to getting a bigger raise by finding a new job. So I joined this company in 2021 after a very crappy 2020 of getting laid off, getting good unemployment money, getting forced back to work for only 32 hours a week(less than I was paid on unemployment), quitting working for 3 months for sanity reasons(401k money used to pay bills), 401k ran out so had to find a job in crap job market during covid, ended up part time at UPS for a month. Then I made the mistake of working…
To clarify, I am a professional cleaner. I worked for this company May-Aug, but quit mid august after my dad passed away on Aug 9th. I’ve had issues with this job prior to this incident. First issue that pissed me off was us receiving a base pay and an incentive pay. After a 90 day probation period we receive a $2 increase. My issue with this is that the base pay and incentive pay are separate checks. So each paystub gets taxed. The current issue is a new policy they added. This policy is a mandatory 30min lunch break. Except with this cleaning job, we have zero down time except when we are driving to each cleaning job. Some of these jobs are 3mins away, others can be 30-40mins away from each other. So, since I’ve been working there, they have been deducting (or adding) a 30min lunch break every…
How to deal with mangers?
I work at goodwill and lately we’ve been getting couch after couch, about 100 cars every hour and nowhere to put stuff so we’re basically throwing away donations no matter if they’re good or not. Our old GM moved stores but still comes into our store regularly to “help out”, yesterday he did some bs. This older new guy who just started tried asking him a question and all the old GM did was put a hand in his face and say “get back to work” then later asked him if he was okay, the new guy said no and told him what he did to him and the manager denied that he did that, said he told him “I don’t know that answer” for a while now that GM has been tryna make us feel dumb and downplay us, acting like it’s our faults everyone is coming to drop…
Insurance CSR for 5 years now and it is wearing me down. 5 years of clients complaining nonstop, even after I’ve offered a solution, insulting me, threatening me, and cussing me out over things like…premium prices. 5 years of at least one colleague in the office finding new and creative ways to be obnoxious, rude, and toxic (bullying, picking on, or micromanaging.) 5 years of answering back to back phone calls of the same issues and feeling like a damn broken record. 5 years of clients being deliberately ignorant or not taking any accountability (it’s always everyone else’s fault but their own when their payment was late and their insurance cancels.) To make matters worse, I am a hardcore introvert. Interacting with people I like wears me down as it is. So you can imagine what this kind of atmosphere does. It’s EXHAUSTING! And it’s defeating me. It has taken…
I mean, when I realized I said that it was too late. I mean, I’m trying to like her more and more, but at the beginning she was very rude towards me and the other staff. Some people even left because of her. Once I called her out and told her everything, and to stop treating me like sh*t. After that she never disrespected me ever again. Our relationship got better and I had to learn h to be more tolerant towards her. But it is work in progress. She laughed and I did too. Now she is saying all the staff “I asked him if you guys missed and he said just a little bit” Hahah, omg, at least I was honest.
