i live in Texas and work in a safety-focused industry if that helps
Can anybody tell me what to do with this?? First week on my new job and I get handed a Wisely card and am told this is how I'll be paid. I DO NOT WANT THIS. I have a bank account that is already set up to automatically pay my bills. I am NOT jumping through the hoops of having multiple cards with all my paychecks going to one. Is it even legal for my work to have signed me up for this payroll card without my consent, and to dull out all my money through it?? I'm desperately looking for an online portal that will let me change where my direct deposit will go to, but it seems like such a scam that I've received this thing in the first place. Now my first week's worth of pay is stuck on this damn account, and I just can't deal…
What Is Anti Work Actually About?
So I dont’t use reddit but this sub reddit is a head scratcher to what extent do you want people to stop working? Fast food workers? Tailors I don’t know any generic job you can think of or is this sub reddit more of trying to cut down on unrealistic hours

Dreading going back to work
I’m having a bit of anxiety about going back to work Tomorrow. I got placed on a 30 day notice PIP on 12/23 for taking unplanned PTO 3.5 hours to be exact. I roughly missed 2 hours between driving and check-in/out. All of my assignments were completed during the times I missed work with exception to items due in mid January. I have never missed a deadline. I also missed 1 day due to be sick in November but charged sick time. I received a PIP(performance improvement plan) saying my consistent missing of hours during business hours has contributed to my subpar work. Citing…
Leaving the Army
So it’s almost here. I started the process of leaving almost a year ago now (it takes that long to basically quit) While I’m glad to be leaving I’m equally terrified about the transition back to civilian life and a civilian job. But I keep reminding myself with a civilian job I can use the word ‘no’. (I plan to make a post at some point detailing all the different ‘dickings’ I had over the years) Which also means I can say yes to stuff like overtime and be finically better for it. Rather than getting paid 24/7 as I did in the Army. I worked in retail before I joined years ago and I vowed to myself I’d never go back. But after the mountain of shit I’ve dealt with over my time in the army I feel like any job would be a peace of cake! I acquired…
