So I’m a delivery driver for one of the biggest delivery companies. The other day I delivered a package to this older man, maybe early to mid 70s. After I drop his package off and I’m walking back to my truck he yells out “HEY. THANK YOU. It’s so nice to see a young man like you actually working these days, especially on a rainy day. There’s a lot of people your age who don’t want to work, they just want to sit at home collecting money from the government. THANK YOU.” It’s crazy to me how out of touch people are. Today I had a tech interview at a small startup company near my apartment I spent 350(USD) on a nice suite and showed up at 10:30 sharp (This is when the interview took place). I went up knocked on the front door of the company at 10:30 the person took roughly 30 seconds to come out to greet me (which turned into 10:31) and gave me the unfortunately we are very time strict here and don't want any of our future candidates to be late you were late by one minute so I have to let you go. Now tell me if you guys think I dodged a bullet by them turning me away? Me personally I would hate to work for a company if i showed up a minute late.
Hello! I live in the USA & recently left a really crappy job. I had lots of issues with admin over a company issued iPad before but this really does take the cake. I was issued a company iPad and literally on the last day of my employment with them, I kid you not, the screen got cracked (still am not sure how this happened, as it was not cracked in the morning when I used it & cannot recall dropping it). I figured I’d be responsible for providing the money to replace the screen, as in the employee handbook it says it is the employees responsibility to maintain & upkeep the iPad. When I returned it, HR would not provide me a quote or estimate and I left them my personal email to contact me. Days go by and nobody reaches out to me, I attempted to contact payroll…
