I was offered a pay card but would much prefer a final paycheck, since I want to deposit money into my account. What legal obligations do companies have to adhere too?
CEO, CFO, CTO, COO and all those senior management roles where you're paid handsomely and delegate the actual work to other employees You get these roles from experience but how much training would actually be required for someone without that experience to do these jobs? I think if you shadow say a COO, you can probably pick it up in a reasonable time frame
My manager is at a doctors appointment the rest of the day, in the meantime I had a coworker reach out to me asking for a report that I don’t have access to, I told her “Unfortunately I don’t have access to this report, it will have to wait until my manager is back tomorrow” to which she responds “Do you have a way of reaching her so she can get this to me? Sorry to even ask!” …. if you’re sorry to even ask then WHY THE HELL ARE YOU ASKING?? we are not out here curing cancer – there is nothing important enough that would require me to text my manager during her half day off asking her to send a report. like are some people serious? why do people act like their job is the most important thing on this planet and nukes will go flying if…
That wouldnt be a problem if the wallpaper would be not so bright that you cant read the text of the folder and if it wasnt so bad quality that I get motion sick ess of it. I have alltime some windows open that i cant see it. The chiefs didnt amswer my request for changing and most of the bureau asked the same…. Hope this shit will end soon.
Edit: A non-profit, in case that matters.
In 2022, it takes a household income of $570,000 to be in the top 1%. I remember that only a few years ago this figure was in the high 300s, like $380,000-400,000. Crazy how the gap is growing wider and wider at a faster rate.
I work in front of a Pizza oven. All day I'm hot and sweating, moving quick, and fighting dehydration. I make minimum wage, and won't be getting a Christmas bonus. Was basically peer pressured into wearing a hat by the owner along with the rest of the staff (that work in much more temperature controlled parts of the restaurant). All week long they want me to wear it, so today when I was supposed to go in, I got a “stomach virus” and won't be in for a few days. I feel like this is fucked up on several levels, bc even though I was raised Christian, I don't observe. Having the observance of a Holiday forced on me, last time I checked, is fucking illegal. Not to mention 0 considerations for a comfortable and ergonomic work environment… Anyways, glad to be out doing Doordash deliveries, (earning crap for it),…
Dear Kevin, I just got the Christmas email from the CEO, which contained the list of Christmas parties being put on by the company, over 35 of them. I did not see a party for our division, though three other divisions that work in our building were included. Do we go to one of those, OR are we not getting anything for Christmas this year? Thanks. His response: Dear James, Unfortunately, we will not be getting a Christmas party or a bonus this year because it is just not in the budget. However, I will set aside some money for next year. Have a good Christmas, and don't forget that the management expects you to hit the ground running in the new year. Response to him. Yes, I will be sure to “HIT THE GROUND RUNNING”; you can take this response as my two weeks' notice.
Twas the night before Xmas, and all thru the company, evenone was working, the consultants especially. The large company grew larger, buying up the competition, and with it came dozens of data server integrations. We'll spend $20 million to get to 1 system, the execs said with a glee. Our preferred vendor contracts can get us warm bodies for $20/hr overseas. We will save 5 million in labor fees! And so it began with a 2 year deadline. The youngsters arrived with thier H1B Visa's signed. They made spreadsheets and programs, project plans and slideshows. They coded programs and web pages, HTML and macros. 5 years later and the project isn't done. Those workers had no practical experience to draw from. Now it's time to go home, their visas' expired. The firm that expoited their labor ready to retire. And what happened to the company that refused to get experts?…
