I was thinking about a certain manager who left last year and why I never cared for her. I hadn't thought about this in a while, but I recalled exactly why I didn't like her. A position opened in our department, and since she was the head, she was conducting the interviews. I had a coworker who was a very nice guy, someone with the education and work ethic for the position. He applied and she scheduled an interview which was during his shift. We were allowed to wear our uniform but he went out of his way to bring a suit and put it on. We all knew he was excited for the opportunity. I came to find out a days later that she never interviewed him. He went to the administrative office on time, prepared and before she sat down to talk to him, she pointed out that…

The first time, it took her 5 days, I thought maybe she just got busy so I responded that. But then the second time it took her almost 3 weeks to come back…. Then I know either she is really terrible at her job or she is just playing. I just gave up and moved on but today, she emailed me again for other roles I applied prior,,,. After I replied to call her out, she is actually OOO and I got her automated response…it is like she is intentionally to piss me off now, like I am having my vaca now, stay mad… https://preview.redd.it/8zr8rne1v47a1.jpg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1db1f92d7d699fe6e0306dfda1c8f83e0a7767a0 https://preview.redd.it/dmvlk58iv47a1.jpg?width=744&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f9939469b61e1618bd57c371afa0e8e91f006501 https://preview.redd.it/btl6l95lv47a1.jpg?width=742&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5414a0904ef3ffca0d951dfc7948d3492e311818 https://preview.redd.it/osz3yblmv47a1.jpg?width=741&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2643ce464ecb4e548ef8154adf7b154b6e52a264 https://preview.redd.it/ywancc9pv47a1.jpg?width=741&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e41d78ede8dabd21fd9a54e0fdb35c91bd4e6288
Unions benefits
I just can't anymore. Not only do I not have a schedule that I can rely on because things get dropped on my lap last minute and I end up working later than scheduled 3-5 days a week, I also can't rely on the owner making up his damn mind about days off for the holidays. We only get one scheduled day off for Christmas, and because it falls on a Sunday this year, we get Monday off. Cool, ok. But he will occasionally close us on the Saturday of a three day weekend. Mind you, only my department is open on Saturdays anyway. But he'll just randomly decide sometime throughout the week, not telling us ahead of time so we can make plans, but whatever, we still get an occasional extra day off. This year my manager all but promised we'd be closed this Saturday since it's Christmas Eve.…
So I was sick yesterday and called out of work. It was 8:30am when I called out for an 11am shift. I was still sick and asleep until 8am. I’ve only recently come back to this job part time and was unaware we needed 4 hours notice; I remember it just needed to call the manager on duty. I worked with this company for almost 6 years before I originally left, called out twice in that time. Now I get denied PTO because I was sick and still asleep so I couldn’t follow their “proper procedures.” Even small businesses don’t give a fuck about you.
For context my shift started at 4:30pm and I reached out to HIM at 3:48pm. Is it normal for employees to have to call their manager ?? Feel like it should be the other way around
That’s fair

Shame on Gary Norcross
Worth $88.9 Million dollars, he retires and leaves the company he built to investors. Shame on him!
