Any ideas on how to get fired?
Hi there, I've been working in CS for 7 years. Recently the company was bought by a multinational corporation, that owns half of the planet or something. Anyway, a lot of changes followed this migration. For the first time of my life I experience this level of stress and pressure in a workplace, even though I've done some significantly more stressful jobs in the past. The company became a labour camp, in just a few days and they try not to let us breath, during the shift. Counting the seconds/minutes you need to answer an email, or go to the bathroom. Each shift is followed by a huge manager text asking details on why you took a 6.5 minutes break, instead of 5, or took like 30 seconds more on that email. We stopped having any kind of fun at work (even silly work jokes among peers on slack), nobody's…
Possible Wage Theft? Let Me Explain
So I work on a surface mine in West Virginia. We work from 6am to 4pm. Our routine is we all park in the same lot every morning, and we get on a school bus (man trip) to take us further onto the site to our machines/equipment. This is done to save wear and tear on our personal vehicles and to get everyone where they're meant to be; this takes about 10-15 minutes. Many others and myself have been getting to our parking lot around 5:55am, getting on the bus, and going to work. We do this because we're made to stay at our equipment until the very last minute, putting us back at the parking lot well past 4pm, usually 4:15ish. This already feels like wage theft IMO, but it gets better/worse. I was just told yesterday that everyone is required to be in the parking lot at or…

Tipping Ends January 1st 2023
Hello Reddit community, I am starting a movement to advocate for fair pay for waiters and other service industry workers. As many of you may know, waiters and other service industry workers often rely on tips as a significant portion of their income. However, this system is inherently flawed and often results in underpaid and exploited workers. According to research, tipped workers are twice as likely to live in poverty as non-tipped workers (1). This is because the federal minimum wage for tipped workers is just $2.13 per hour, a rate that has not increased in over 30 years (2). This means that many waiters and other service industry workers are forced to rely on the generosity of customers to make a living wage. Furthermore, the tipped wage system disproportionately affects women and people of color, who make up a disproportionate share of tipped workers (3). This creates a significant…

Long story short, Gamefam management required long hours, gave 25%-50% to expected pay, and even had developers work several weeks without payment – before silently “firing” them and stealing their work. In response to these serious allegations, Gamefam publicy posted a “response”, which you can't really differentiate from a hiring ad, not apologizing, nor even mentioning any claims and their defense regarding it.
