CEO asked, “What do Sales Reps even do?”

We do everything. Including but not limited to entering quotes and orders, doing everything all other departments throw at us (including quality and credit work we aren’t formally trained on), dealing with customers all day, and training our own assistants. All while making $41-49k yearly ($20k less than market value) in a time of $0 sales commissions. I knew she didn’t appreciate us but come on, don’t flat out insult the job description you probably copied from someone’s resume. If it weren’t for us, no orders would be processed and your company would make no money. We also have the power to piss off customers and make them never patronize the business again.
