This is a rant you have been warned.
I went to a McDonald's bathroom in Germany today and upon having to go to the bathroom immediately noticed a cleaning lady standing at a table right in front of the bathrooms entranxe. Upon squeezing past her she immediately aggressively pointed to a plate of coins on said table and demanded money. Now I know this sceme.
I have no problem to give something to someone in need, but thanks to some experience I never pay up front.
I do my business and pay upon leaving if the bathroom I used was reasonably clean. Good thing I didn't pay. I got in and almost slipped in what must have been someone's vomit.
Now it was me who somewhat harshly reminded the lady to PLEASE do her actual job. She did, begrudgingly.
I honestly don't know what to make of this.
I know cleaning personnel is literally treated like shit in most places. However, so was I when I served in the Army. No excuse to not do your job. I know I probably got paid much better, but I still feel there is something like work ethic.
Why pretend to be salaried cleaning personnel if you're begging anyways?
What do you think AITA here?
