Just had my review for the company I got hired into about 5 months ago now. Fucking Hell…
I got hired a while ago, and this job fucking sucks. I'm good with doing all the things I need to do that pertain to my job, but dealing with conceded and petty higher ups of boomer age is disgusting. My supervisor has been shit talking me since I got hired because he's convinced I'm trying to take his position. I'm not. I really do not want his bullshit job, because as far as mine sucks, his sucks more.
Yeah, head of the firm just kinda reads a paper that says a bunch of paraphrased things the others in my office and my supervisor have said about me, and it was all negative despite how much they said I was doing well. It was incredibly mixed messaging and honestly I feel sufficiently gas lit. I'm so dissociative right now that I can't even express how upset I am.
Apparently, despite “I've noticed this place looks really good, you've made great improvement since you got hired here and look a lot more confident in what you do”, it still turned into a “you're constantly a problem for us and have severely pissed off your boss to where he doesn't like you” in about 5 minutes. It then went into how I can't take responsibility for anything in my life, I'm lying about my skill and that my co workers are talking mad shit about me.
She didn't say the part about the co workers out loud, but it was obvious by what she said. For a small context, there is a company “trip” that happened that I still had to pay for to drive and get stuff with, and nobody in my office was excited. They were all saying “wow, what a fucking joke” and I said it did kinda feel like a “pizza party” in that sense. The next thing I know, my manager comes in saying how she doesn't appreciate my comments about the trip, and that I'm bad mouthing the company as a whole, using my terminology at me. Wtf
I'm kinda stuck here for a little bit so I can find a better job somewhere else, and I'm trying to find something in the same field.
Note to self, don't talk to office co-workers if you can. They literally have nothing better to do than gossip about you and pretend to be nice and friendly. Also, if your supervisor says that the last person to have your position quit because said supervisor threw a small filing cabinet at them, you should also probably find new employment.
