Company dropped my pay drastically after a transfer across the country.

I moved from the southeast to the northeast with a signed offer letter within my same company. I've been in the northeast for a little over 2 years and decided to buy a house. The day I moved in, they called me and told me they made a mistake on my pay and dropped my yearly salary by 24 thousand. I have burned through all of my savings paying my bills the past few months and dont know what to do. Would I have a case if I brought this to an employment lawyer.
