Company hired me for a seasonal position and the orientation is in the same month the seasonal position ends.

Sorry if my formatting is weird or something, I've never really used Reddit but just needed to get this off my chest. I'm a 16-year-old upcoming college student in the US and got a job in June at a nursing home as a barista. I've been looking for jobs all over within the last few months and still can't find a single damn place to work, but this place took me in for a little bit. Now, the position is seasonal and was supposed to be full-time. Turns out it was part-time apparently, even though I applied and was hired for a full-time position.

They “hired” me in early June, and then they say the orientation is on the 30th of July and I haven't heard shit since. I asked multiple times if I can start sooner, and they give me the “I'll send __ over and see if they want you there sooner!” and nothing else. I told them I would have to leave on September 1st because I can't work while in nursing school. Why would I get a job just to end up having to give my notice only two weeks after I “start” the position? That is, if they even schedule me. It's super common for jobs to hire me and then they don't schedule me for months at a time.

Happened to me at my last job where they went 2 months without scheduling me and denied every request I made for a shift. Then the job I had after that took $300 from my check and shredded my work permit and said it's because they need compensation for my leaving when they also didn't schedule me or respond to my texts for weeks. I'm so sick of it man.
