I'll try to keep this brief.
I started working for a contracting company as a FT hourly employee for one of their clients a few weeks back. After the second week, I knew things weren't going to work out between myself and my co-worker whom I needed to work closely with. Plus I wasn't really vibing with the company culture.
Anyway I resigned that day on the spot. The staffing company tried to tell me “it'll get better”, but I knew it wouldn't. I understand they wanted to keep me in place to keep the cash flow coming, but it wasn't good for my mental health.
I told multiple people “No, it's not going to work”, but they literally wouldn't take no for an reason. They wanted me “think on it” and get back to them, which I did, but yet again “give it till the end of the day”. So at that point, I just gave up and didn't respond anymore.
Over the course of the past couple weeks, I asked my original recruiter via email about the details of collecting my check and any benefits for the time worked. Never responded to my emails.
Last week one of the HR reps reached out to have me fill out a withholding form…apparently it was missed somehow. I'm not able to do so as my access to their system had been removed. After I replied back to him with images, I never heard back. I must of emailed him several times since that.
Fast forward to today; I haven't received any pay or details about anything at all. Thus I email him and said “If I do not hear back from you by COB tomorrow, I will be reaching out for legal assistance”. Not even 5 minutes later – I receive a reply from him which states “I am awaiting word from my bosses regarding this matter. I have forwarded this to them as well.”
That's it.
