Company recently requested travel time not be tracked at all, no idea why

I work for a relatively small manufacturing/textiles company, I work in the office and will occasionally have to travel for work, usually that means getting on a plane and flying to another site. There also client sites who we do billable work to that we always have to travel to. Now, im salaried so all “hours entered” is, as far as I know, just for record keeping (billable work timekeeping obviously is used to bill the client.) Up until now, I had just been keeping track of all my flight time and logging it under some designated “admin” related code, just for record keeping. Recently, weve been requested to stop tracking travel time all together, without any reason given as to why. Now, since im salaried, it doesnt really affect me, its just one less thing I have to enter when entering time, but it still just kind of…feels weird…

I dont see any obvious benefit for not tracking time, and can only see possible downsides
