Company requiring all employees to sign public letter denouncing Dylan Mulvaney and Bud Light

I know this might not be the perfect subreddit to talk about this situation, but I nevertheless wanted to share it with people who might recognize the unsavory – and possibly illegal – parts of this controversy. My family's business is beer distributing (I am a teacher, and therefore a low-grade black sheep). Even though it doesn't seem their business has been negatively impacted, the owner has drafted a letter to publish in newspapers about the recent Dylan Mulvaney campaign with Bud Light. The letter says things like “Bud Light has produced a can that has created a considerable amount of backlash. Many join us in disagreeing with move but it is done.” and “For those offended by this poor marketing decision, we apologize. We ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers as our people navigate this unfortunate incident.” This would just be reactionary and tone-deaf, but…

This would just be reactionary and tone-deaf, but the letter also says that all employees must sign it and that their signatures will appear alongside the published letter. Distributors are notoriously anti-union (as opposed to the breweries), so this puts the employees in a rather tenuous situation.
