I took this job because we had a 9/80 schedule. In 2021 they took that away and said we'd have a flexible schedule where we worked M-F but only had to come in 2 days a week. We effectively lost 26 days off we had a year. Of course PTO remained the same despite the fact that PTO was decreased when 9/80s were implemented because “you get 26 extra days a year!”
As you can imagine from 2021 to now, almost no one ever goes in unless there's a meeting or event we need to be there for. Friday afternoon they sent out a company wide email that we have not been meeting the minimum requirements and are now going to be monitored. Anyone not meeting the policy will “lose the flexible work privileges” and apparently you'd have to just come into the office 5 days a week. So someone is getting paid to track at least a thousand employees at our US headquarters because that obviously generates more value than us doing our jobs remotely. Am I missing something? Does this make sense?
