I had to travel from Denmark to Germany recently for work. I got told by my manager that travel time is deducted at 50% my hourly rate. I'm a contractor and get paid my the hour, so no pension, holidays, sick leave etc., but I get higher pay.
My issue is if I travel say 8 hours, I only get paid for 4 hours. So my paycheck will then be smaller if I don't work up the hours to account for this. But how is this my fault if the company needs me to travel? Is this allowed?
