Recently, I was offered a tech support job at concentrix in a wfh position for get this….15 an hr.
This is barely above minimum where I live and certainly not even close to an affordable wage, not even close to commensurate with my work experience and would literally be a 45% paycut from my last position.
Despite all of this, Id almost be desperate enough to accept just to avoid being in a cubicle and traffic on a daily basis. They do not provide a computer or any equipment except a webcam and proprietary AI software installed on my pc which takes random screenshots of me throughout the day to ensure that I stay A, chained to my desk and B, no one else enters the room.
Does anyone else feel like we are currently living in some dystopian nightmare or is it just me?
In my home, even during work hours, I should have 0 expectation of privacy? Is that even legal?
What dipshit board signed off on this?
I havent even responded to their offer and they're sending me reminders every couple of days.
I dont even know how to eloquently get my point across to them that in no way this is acceptable as even in an in person position Id be mortified to have a camera/supervisor etc in my face and monitoring me every second of my shift.
Id ignore it or just no thank you but I feel like they should know why so any other companies thinking about implementing this type of trash get the hint.
Anyone else have experience with this type of system? Is there any way to break it?
