Im the most junior guy in my workplace. Whenever I make a small mistake two of my co-workers (yes senior to me) become condescending. They usually say “I didn't expect this from you” or “Is this the level of work I can expect from you?”. The mistakes were small ranging from typos in emails to a careless mistake on Excel (Fucking hate excel) where I used the wrong column in vlookups. I do generally make some mistakes ever couple of months but it's never been a critical mistake.
I've seen others also make a few careless mistakes here and there but I laughed it off with them. Why then do others become dead serious when i make small mistakes?
I really hate my damn job. Im doing all kinds of shit which I didn't sign up for. I took up this job because i didn't have any other choice as i wa struggling with long covid. I'm trying to change but I'm not able to find a new job.
I'm 26 years old for some context and working in finance. Would you react similarly if you were my senior?
