Overworked, underpaid, and affordable housing is just a pipe dream. That's the sentiment of workers. Then when they get laid off and know someone on a visa will have their job this is how it goes:
“Close the borders! I'm losing my job to an immigrant. We do the same thing but they hired him over me!”
Why him over you?
“Because it's cheap labor! They can pay them less”
There it is. The company is EXPLOITING immigrant workers. A desperate and scared worker who knows if he doesn't do whatever the company wants they are gone.
If immigrant workers had stronger protections for the same wages do you think the company choose the immigrant over you? Probably not. Rather than be angry at the sociopaths that are corporations they got us fighting each other.
