Coworkers seem to find a different reason to leave early multiple times a week. Boss is basically never at work. If they think I’m staying until 5pm every day, they’re kidding themselves.

Just like the title says. I have one older coworker, in her 50’s, that leaves at 4:30 every day because she wants “be on the road before it gets too dark to see.” Even now that it’s been broad daylight well after 6pm and her drive is only 20 minutes. Good luck using that excuse now that it stays bright until after 7… My other coworker always has something going on with her teenage kids or some family/friend thing to prep for. “I need to pick up a prescription.” “My daughter has a flat tire.” “I am hosting a party tonight and I need to get stuff.” Leaving anywhere between 15-30 minutes early at least a couple times a month. My other coworker always has something going on with her teenage kids or some family/friend thing to prep for. “I need to pick up a prescription.” “My daughter has a flat tire.” “I am hosting a party tonight and I need to get stuff.” Leaving anywhere between 15-30 minutes early at least a couple times a month.

My boss…rarely at work. Maybe two days a week. And not even full days.

Plus my boss has been rewarding my coworkers (who are sales) with Fridays off for the past couple months, as an initiative to sell certain insurance policies. The only decent thing is, if they get two Fridays off I get to pick one day, as long as it’s not a Friday. But either way. Out of their two, I get one. And I don’t get a Friday. So far they’ve had 3 days off the last two months. I’ve had one.

So…explain to me why I’m the only one in the office who stays back while everyone either leaves early or gets multiple days off a month.

Making things a bit more fair, on days where everyone leaves early, I wait until they pull out of the lot, drive away. Then I too…leave.
