Dangerous Rag Alert!

I was working as a store man for a multinational oil company in the provinces, protected somewhat by a union that I never joined because they never asked for my signature. So my first site safety inspection is due (over one year on site), I plant an oily rag under some barrels of chemicals some three feet from any walkway, you would need to be crawling to be able to slip on this rag. I knew it would provoke a “safety hazard” failure which is exactly what I wanted. Not five feet away there was a broken board on the walkway that I used every day and complained about every week. This should have been noticed and identified as a safety hazard, but of course wasn't. When the report came out I said; “When that broken board is fixed I will remove the dangerous rag.” Yep it was fixed before…

Yep it was fixed before the end of the month and a week after I removed the rag, I left it there for a week so it stayed on the hazard register at the end of the reporting month and thus caused my boss to lose points for this safety failure.

I play fair.
