Honestly this is mostly just a rant/search for validation but I'm sure a bunch of people here have been in the same boat.
I woke up on Monday to an email from my bank saying my account had insufficient funds, i was like $1700 overdrafted (i had rent + bills on auto pay) and no paycheck, despite it being rhe 1st of the month. I checked with my employer, and they had my Sept paycheck listed as $0. Zero ducking dollars.
We renew our contracts three times a year(stupid), and it turns out, my dept admin made an error when preparing my contract, and instead of anyone fucking telling me or fixing it, they just didn't pay me. Didn't renew my contract. My health insurance lapsed, my tuition remission didn't go through, and I'm now on the hook for hundreds of dollars in late fees.
The best they can do apparently is pay me off cycle. In two fucking weeks. Meanwhile I've had to borrow money from everyone i know just to get my rent paid.
I did everything i was supposed to. What the fuck is the point of working and all that shit if I'm just going to get screwed anyway? If i knew i just wasn't going to get paid for an entire month of work i would have at least had a good time with it.
