So I got recruited by an agency who said I was an excellent candidate for a job opportunity where I would make a great deal of money given my background and education. I waited over a week and then messaged them about it.
Just a few moments ago, the recruiter told me that he wasn't aware that this employer automatically disregards resumes and applications from anyone who obtained their college degrees online!
I did my Associates and Bachelor's online for two reasons: I was working full time while I was going to school so it was a matter of time and convenience. But I also did it because I'm hard of hearing and it's sometimes difficult for me to sit in a lecture and hear the instructor. Sure I can get accommodations for my disability but it's sometimes not the same for a myriad of reasons.
I did respond to the recruiter stating what this means for those who had to do online coursework during the pandemic and what about those with disabilities? I was considering going back to get my Masters because the subject matter I want to study is *surprise* online. But I guess I'm going to have to find out whether future employers will even considering hiring me if I got my Masters online?!
