I work as a DevOps Engineer at a Service based startup. I'm in India, so right now the temperature is about 41-42 degrees CELCIUS. That is hot as FUCK. Our office is terrible, 0 air circulation, and a non-centralized air conditioning. Our office has a single window AC.
I have to walk under the blistering sun for a while before reaching my workplace since I use public transport. (I'm paid less than 300 USD per month, can't afford cabs or personal transport). Today, I reached work and set the AC at 22 degrees. An hour later, the Director comes in, takes a look at the AC and yells “No one is going to use the AC below 27 degrees.”
What's the point of an air conditioner if you can't use it? 27 degrees celcius hardly provides any cooling, especially when a single window unit is serving 20+ people at once! I swear I'm done with this place. I'm way too underpaid and overworked to be made to sit in this shitty work environment.
