Just remember that Disney reported that in 2021 they had total revenues exceeding $67 billion, the CEO Bob Chapeck’s base salary was $2.5 million (up from $1.8 million in FY2020). His compensation includes $10.2 million in stock awards, $3.75 in stock options and a $14.3 million cash bonus, according to Disney's proxy filing with the SEC. All while Disney is posting massive profits and massive bonus payouts to the upper management, the Park employees or “Cast Members” earn on average $9.00 to $19.00 an hour. This is not including the loss of wages while being furloughed without pay or outright laid off during the pandemic. IF DISNEY gave two craps about people or especially members of the LTGBQ+ community then maybe they should start with taking care of their own employees. This is a change they can put into effect by next week and would actually make a difference in helping take care of all communities that they employ. Disney might be taking a stand for what they believe but that belief should include not just dignity for the disenfranchised, it should include a living wage.
