My boss is all about “drive”, “consistency”, and “innovation”, but doesn't give me any clear performance goals. With 20 years of experience in the tech industry, I know the importance of clear goals, but my boss doesn't seem to understand this. I feel like I'm constantly being given busy work and pulled away from important projects. It's difficult to focus on improving processes when I'm not given the time to research and plan.
