Employee suggests mandatory 4 hrs OT tomorrow

I just need to rant because I am so done with this company. They continually demand mandatory OT during the end of the month, usually eating up 1.5-2 weeks in a month. I can’t do anything else with my time during then because we dismiss as a group. We don’t know when we’ll be dismissed, as it correlates to when the work is done, so I am unable to plan LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE IN MY LIFE. This month has already been a terrible and our manager keeps sending emails that OT is STRONGLY SUGGESTED this weekend because of all the work that has to be done by end of day Monday. This other employee (not even in management) replies all saying ‘nothing wrong with a little mandatory OT! Why not have everyone work 4 hours on Saturday? They can pick their own hours!’ I’ll be damned if I give up…

I’ll be damned if I give up my afternoons AND my days off for this bs company that completely disregards our personal time.

Edit: manager ultimately said it was too short notice to make people work on Saturday. Im still salty about my weekday afternoons being stripped from me.
