so i was laid off recently in may 2022 from company 2. due to no work being available and interest rates rising along with 35 others in my department. i work in the mortgage industry. i qualified for unemployment benefits. after waiting 3 months florida unemployment deposited a $2,964 check for 12 weeks. two weeks later i get a notice that my employer company 1 from 2021 is filing an appeal to take the money away because they say i was unprofessional in an email i sent to outside vendor. the appeal says “Claimant was hired on 6/16/2020 as a Senior Processor and last day worked was 8/16/2021.
Claimant was discharged due to sending an inappropriate / unprofessional email to an outside
vendor. This is a violation of policy and resulted in termination. Claimant kuew or should
have known these actions were placing their job in jeopardy. We wish to appeal this
determination. the email in question says the following: “Chelsie,
I have an email from the borrower saying something completely different. Get your team in order. This
week I have had two issues with your title company. And its affecting my pay because my loans are not
closing on time because of fin title. thank you “ im just distraught at this point that a company with millions of dollars can be so petty and come after me for my FL unemployment that is one of the lowest in the nation. how can i take revenge on this employer that is coming after my livelihood? i have the hearing in 10 days over the phone.
