I injured my hand while working for CaVaBien Day Spa (Calgary, AB) in Nov 2021. Since then, they have ignored communication from both myself, and Workers compensation for the duration of my claim.
WCB made some serious mistakes, which I am working on with them, but it includes them paying me less than half of what I was owed for an entire year (among other serious issues). To say this put an extreme financial burden on us is an understatement, and I am continuing to await surgery/treatment for my injury.
I have been attempting to have my employer fill out a simple insurance form, that would allow me to receive help for credit card debt that has increased exponentially since being injured, to avoid filing for bankruptcy.
The manager at CaVaBien, Andrea, has ignored all attempts I've made at getting this form completed. Although it is illegal to fire an employee while on medical leave, it would appear Andrea is attempting to ignore me until I just go away.
How businesses treat their employees matters. I have been silent, but no longer. The public deserves to know how terrible CaVaBien treats employees that have done nothing wrong except get hurt while making them money. Any advice and recommendations are welcome.
Andrea – I hope 2023 treats you with more compassion and empathy than you have decided to show me during this difficult time.
